Four Long Island nonprofits received grants totaling $207,000 for real estate projects from the Long Island Real Estate Group.

The philanthropic trade organization presented the gifts to the four organizations during a networking breakfast on Nov. 28.

The largest gift, $100,000, went to the Northwell Health Foundation, which will apply the funds to redesign and upgrade the neonatal intensive care unit at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.

The Viscardi Center in Albertson, which offers education and vocational programs to individuals with disabilities, received $75,000 to replace a canopy and to renovate a kitchen.

Tri Community and Youth Agency of Huntington received $17,000 to construct a computer center, music section and reception and greeting desk.

Hempstead-based New Ground was awarded $15,000 for the construction of a space for an onsite reading program and to build a food pantry.

“Thanks to all of our generous supporters, we are thrilled to be able to aid these organizations,” LIREG Co-President Michael Blaymore said in a statement.

Since its founding in 2004, LIREG has contributed more than $1.4 million to support Long Island real estate-related projects undertaken by charities.

This year’s donations were presented at the Old Westbury Country Club, where LIREG hosted a panel discussion entitled “Modern Trends in Retail Real Estate: Re-Purposing and Revitalizing Traditional Malls into Mixed-Use Facilities.”
